Chicago’s Experts in Sewer & Drain Cleaning
Regular drain cleaning and maintenance of sewer pipes and plumbing systems are essential for preventing costly repairs and ensuring the smooth operation of your home or business’s water and waste systems. Routine care involves inspecting pipes for signs of wear or damage, clearing blockages, and addressing potential issues before they become major problems.
Preventative maintenance, such as sewer rodding or hydro jetting, removes debris, grease buildup, and tree roots that can accumulate over time, reducing the risk of backups or slow drains. This proactive approach helps to maintain optimal flow and prevents unpleasant surprises like flooding, water damage, or sewer line breaks.

Sewer & Drain Cleaning FAQs
What are the best ways to unclog a sewer or drain?
We recommend either electric rodding or hydro jetting (aka jet rodding) to clear most clogged sewers or drains. Our team can conduct a camera inspection to recommend the best approach for your needs.
What is Electric Rodding?
Electric rodding is a method used to clear sewer and drain lines from grease, roots, and other debris. A flexible cable with a blade at the end is designed to cut through most obstructions found in pipe.
When should electric rodding be used?
Rodding is needed when drains are slowly draining or completely backed up, when tree roots are growing near sewer lines and also for preventive maintenance to keep pipes clear.
Which drains can be cleared by electric rodding?
Main sewer lines, sink lines, floor drains, tub/shower drains, laundry drains, downspout lines, toilet drain lines, etc. can all be cleared with electric rodding.
What is Jet Rodding, aka hydro jetting?
Jet rodding is a high pressure (1,500 to 4,000 PSI) water jetting method used to clear sewer lines.
What are the benefits of jet rodding over electric rodding?
The jet rod has multi directional cleaning capability, more power and is able to flush and remove grease and debris from sewer lines. Electric rods and other machines can cut up tree roots and other debris, but don’t necessarily remove the debris from the line.
How often is sewer maintnance needed?
Our general recommendation for single-family homes and buildings with a low number of units is to have general maintenance performed once a year. Larger buildings, restaurants, mixed use buildings, etc. may need less time between maintenance visits. We offer a range of maintenance programs to best fit your building.
How often should a grease trap be cleaned?
Every trap is a little different depending on water/drain usage from the building, but the best timing of cleaning can range from every 3 months to once a year.
