Overhead Sewer Systems can be the best way to waterproof your home in some cases. The primary way the system works is to raise your sewer line higher than the water level in the city sewer can ever reach. By doing this, all basement drains will now run into a pump pit. The 2" ejector pump will discharge basement waste water above and drop into the overhead system. The start of the overhead sewer will have a clean-out installed for future access to the main sewer line. Cast iron piping will be installed through the foundation wall to connect to the main sewer line. From there, the line will run to the city sewer and connect somewhere in the street. Madden Sewer & Drain has many years of experience installing overhead sewer systems in Chicago.
